FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The National Restaurant Association has chosen the new IR Conveyor Toaster from Lincoln Foodservice Products, an Enodis company, to receive a 2006 Kitchen Innovations Award. The honor is presented each year by the association to recognize the most innovative foodservice equipment. The Lincoln IR Toaster features the speed and convenience of infrared technology paired with convection air and conveyor support. The unique parabolic design enhances overall convection, focusing heat on the product, not the surrounding environment.
Operator benefits were top of mind when judges considered the IR Conveyor Toaster –
- Reduced energy use compared to infrared and other models. The dome-shaped reflector bounces heat in a focused manner, and watt distribution along the heater’s length allows concentration of warmth where it’s most needed.
- Energy-saving “Sleep” mode. Power is cut to a predetermined percentage and the conveyor belt stopped when the toaster senses no drastic temperature change over a period of time.
- Reduced kitchen heat gain thanks to the toaster’s innovative heat-capture design with an air curtain that prevents heat loss.
- Faster toasted foods thanks to better convection and focused heat.
The Lincoln IR Toaster is well suited to a variety of products – sandwiches, chicken nuggets, pizza, pretzels, tortillas and a variety of appetizers – in multiple segments – casual dining, quick-service restaurants, pizza parlors, sub shops, convenience stores, concessions, recreation, schools and supermarket delis.
Judging for the NRA’s 2006 Kitchen Innovations competition was an independent panel of industry experts comprised of multiunit operators and design consultants. Winners will be featured in an exclusive interactive demonstration area during the National Restaurant Show in May.
